Description

Aims to allow sustaining drinking water services and electromobility by integrating grid-tied and autonomous PV.

It involves the installation of a grid-tied 25 kWp PV system, and 2 standalone PV-Solar inverter configurations with a nominal capacity of 7.5 kW and 2.5 kW in municipality-owned installation sites, capable of partially serving the needs of both EV charging stations and existing water pumping stations. Also, a platform will be developed in UNIWA facilities to provide charging recommendations to drivers of municipal EV fleets and automatic operating instruction sets to water pumping stations, for offsetting between the produced water and water demand.

Description

Aims to introduce smart grid and vehicle-to-grid concepts, electricity from Crete’s wind park will be absorbed by decentralized storage devices, including vehicle-to-grid (V2G), and injected back into the grid during peak demand periods, replacing thermal generators’ production. 

Two sports facilities owned and operated by the municipality will be involved as prosumers in the smart grid. Description

Aims to boost touristic activities as well as serve the needs of local households facing energy poverty issues.  

The project consists of the development of two smart, clean, and green marinas by transforming port infrastructures. Small electric tourist boats for leisure activities, EVs, and e-bikes for local transportation will be provided at each marina. Additional services at the marinas will include smart street lighting systems, modern green waste collection points, WC and shower facilities, and a fire-extinguishing network. The marinas’ infrastructures will be served by smart microgrids, properly orchestrated by a smart management platform.
