Why a career in renewable energy is worth the hype and how it will contribute towards climate change mitigation ?\

The first thing that comes to mind while thinking about a career is the job prospects. As per IRENA’s world energy transition outlook, efforts toward maintaining 1.5 degrees celsius climate will lead to the creation of 43 million jobs in the creation of renewable energy sector, which is comparable to the population of Spain. It would also lead to long-term economic resilience, development and equality, solar photovoltaics is expected to provide the most jobs by 2050 followed by bioenergy, wind and hydropower.

More importantly, we are the millennials and the gen Z generation who gives more emphasis on purpose and impact. Recently there has been a lot of hype about the great resignation happening around the world, fuelled by these groups of people searching for meaning in their jobs. The renewable energy sector is very unique in that aspect, due to the fact that positive impact comes inbuilt with it. You cannot run away from the satisfaction that you get from knowing that all your actions are contributing towards saving the planet.
